One property forming several flats. C18. 3 storeys on basement. Coursed
rubble with rusticated ashlar quoins. Band over ground floor. Plain string
at 2nd floor, small moulded eaves cornice and old tile roof. Plate glass
sash windows, 5 ranges to upper floors with architrave frames and painted
moulded cills. Now 2 modern shop windows on ground floor. Later central
6 panel door in Doric stone surround with pediment, and with curved wrought
iron lampholders. Footscrapers recessed in wall on each side. A basement
opening to right (former 2 light mullion window). Long rubble 2 storey extensions
to rear in 3 stages, forming alleyway with rear extensions of Nos 21 to 29
(odd). These extensions have circa 1700 type 2 light mullion windows, the
1st part has 2 on 1st floor and one on ground floor, 2nd part has 3 on ground
floor (1st floor now modern casements) with stone drips. Yard at rear contains
small cottage (now No 17): C18 with half hipped gables. Hipped dormers to
east.
