1840. 2 storeys, 6 windows. High pitched tiled roof, cross-gabled at ends
with groups of diagonal chimney shafts. Multicoloured stock brick. Parapet
with rounded brick dentils continuing oven gable ends. Gauged red brick
arches to round headed openings. lst floor paired windows in chamfered reveals
in double recessed. Carved stone arms of Thackeray family in centre.
Below, in stone label, inscription: "Built and endowed l840 for Six Aged
Females by John Thackeray of The Priory, Lewisham, who died on the 13th day of
May 1851". On ground floor alternating windows and doors. Paired doors, with
nook shafts, in centre under wide round arch with chevron moulding.
