Clair-voyee. c1890, by C E Kempe, part of his improvements to Old Place. This
comprises a section of brown brick walling almost 18 feet in height, crow-stepped
at one end and incorporating 2 moulded sandstone gatepiers with ball finials which
contain a cast and wrought iron screen in Jacobean style with spear railings and
scrolled top with small panels opening out in the centre. Designed to form a
feature from Old Place, originally looking out to open countryside.
