House. Formerly farmhouse. Early C16, extended early C17. 1 storey and
attics. Timber-framed and plastered. Thatched roof with gabled casement
dormers. C17 central and gable chimneys of red brick. Mainly C19 casements.
C19 6-panelled entrance door; another, boarded, with gabled C20 porch. At the
right hand end is an altered 2-bay open hall of early C16, with central arch-
braced cambered tie-beam and evidence for the unglazed hall windows. There
was no open hearth. A 1st floor was inserted mid C16; this was almost
entirely replaced C18 or C19, and the roof at this end was renewed in pine. A
long 2-cell extension was added early C17 to left, with lobby-entrance against
hall chimney. An end chimney to left has a typical parlour fireplace of C17
type.
