Two houses, now one office. Early C18 and early C19. Squared coursed ironstone
and limestone with stucco facade. L-shape plan. 3 storeys; 6-window range. Pair
of central 6-panelled doors with glazed toplights, panelled reveals and reeded
wood surrounds, flanked by Doric columns with cornice and entablature over both
doors. Sash windows with moulded wood architraves. The ground floor is
rusticated stucco with moulded plaster cornice over. Rusticated quoins at
corners and plain eaves parapet. Stone stack at ridge. Elevation to left has one
2-light stone mullion window and a tripartite sash with glazing bars; both under
wood lintels. Rear projecting wing has ashlar gable parapets and kneelers. Rear
elevation has one sash window with glazing bars. Interior: hall has panelled
walls and moulded plaster ceiling probably reset. No.62 has early C19 staircase
with stick balustrade. Room to left of entrance has mid C19 moulded plaster
ceiling. Room to right of entrance has early C19 alcoves and cornice. Some first
floor rooms have C19 plaster cornices. First floor landing has plain vaulted
ceiling. Some 6-panel doors with early C19 reeded wood surrounds.
