Tower mill. Early C19, altered. Red brick in random bond, magnesian
limestone base. 4-storey truncated cone. Doorway in south side has C20
panelled double door beneath cambered brick arch; windows to 2 floors in line
above have eroded stone sills and C20 casements beneath segmental brick
arches. Corbelled and cogged brickwork at top incorporates cast-iron curb.
Rear: altered ground-floor window; stone plaque to 1st floor inscribed
'WC 1820'; 2nd-floor window as front. Both sides have windows to 4 floors as
front. Shown on Greenwoods map of Cantley (1817-iS); datestone may refer to
alterations by owner W. Childers of Cantley Hall. Situated within garden of
Mill Farm, Doncaster Road.
