House. Datestone G/TM/1688, extended C18 and C19. Squared coursed limestone and
ironstone with Collyweston slate roof. Originally 2-unit plan now irregular
L-shape. Single storey and single storey with attic. Gable end abutting Church
Street has a one-window range of 2- and 3-light, ovolo-moulded stone mullion
windows; first floor window has leaded-lights. Ashlar gable parapet and
datestone with diamond panel and cornice, above first floor window. Elevation,
to left, has C20 door and window under concrete lintel. Pair of gabled eaves
dormers to attic have leaded casements. Brick and stone stack at end. Elevation
to right of front gable has C20 lateral brick stack and adjacent C20 dormer. C19
single storey extension, to left, has C19 style casement. Rear elevation has
outbuilding projecting at right angles, now part of house. Interior: entrance
hall has open fireplace with bressumer. C18 plaster cornice to one wall and
centre roundel. Room to right of entrance has late C17/early C18 fireplace
surround. The house was occupied by Francis Mitchell, a slater, in 1820.
