SK 02 SW BLITHFIELD C.P. BLITHFIELD PARK

12/1/66 attached wall and arch
to north. (Formerly
listed as "Stabling at
Blithfield").

GV II

Former coach house and stables, wall and arch. c.1820. Brick
plastered and lined as ashlar. 4 ranges surrounding a rectangular
courtyard. 2 storeys with moulded parapet band to crenellated parapet,
battlemented octagonal turrets flanking 2:1:2 bay front and central
gatehouse with slightly higher first floor and parapet, square headed
windows with 3-Tudor arch lights and returned hood moulds, gatehouse
window has 2 lights; central 4-centred carriage arch. Attached
crenellated wall to left approximately 10 yards long, containing a
4-centred carriage arch with flanking buttresses. Undergoing conversion
to residential accommodation at time of resurvey (January 1985).
