Church. 1876. Brick, English bond, purple slate roof with bands of grey
slates. 5-bay nave with south porch to bay 2, apsidal chancel, small north
vestry. Porch has blue brick archway with wooden head pierced by small
quatrefoils, inner board door in moulded brick surround. West window of 2
lights with bellframe in gable above. Other windows are lancets with leaded
lights and projecting stone sills, the chancel windows with stone lintels
and sills. Polychromatic brickwork emphasises sill band and window heads.
Wooden lantern with short spire between bays 3 and 4. Conical roof to
chancel. Interior: extensive use of polychromatic tiles; a screen dividing
chancel from nave slides into the side walls. The building forms a group
with the school and clock tower (qv).
