House. C17, 1731, early C19, C20. Stone, brick, timber-framed. C20 plain tile
roof with brick ridge stack and brick gable stack. Coped brick east gable. Lobby
entrance plan. South front: 2½ storeys, 5 bays. Early C18 addition to right
originally 2 bays. 4 bays exposed box frame with brick infill and straight braces
running from wall posts to roof plate. Off-centre doorway with brick cambered
arch and C20 part-glazed door, flanked by single 2-light casements in 1st and 4th
bays. Then to right an early C19 window with brick cambered arch, and 3-light
casement, replacing 2 former windows, now blocked. Above, single 2-light case-
ments in 1st and 4th bays, 2 tiny windows. One below the other in 3rd bay and to
right a large 3-light casements. Above again, three C20 2-light gabled dormers
with bargeboards. All casements are C20. West gable wall has bargeboarded eaves
and a C18 outshut, possibly former dairy, of brick with plain tile roof. Above,
exposed corner posts with flared jowls and a wall-plate supporting 2 blades
crossed at ridge, indicating former roof level, all with brick infill. A single
2-light casement immediately below the wall-plate and a single-light attic case-
ment above, both C20. Rear elevation has 3 visible bays of box-framing.
Interior: chamfered and stopped main beams and exposed joists and a contemporary
dog-leg staircase. Most of the internal partitions walls have been removed.
