Former house and malthouse, now cottages. Mid C16, possible hall house to centre with early C17 cross wings to ends. Timber framed, exposed first floor centre with whitewashed render infill, underbuilt in sandstone rubble, galleted with ironstone and dressed with blue and red brick. Galletted sandstone and brick cladding to right, decorative framing exposed to left. Plain tiled roofs with rendered gable to right.
Two storeys with two and a half framed bays to centre, three framed bays to cross wings. Massive stack to left side, cut off, two diagonal stacks, one either side of front and back of ridge to left of centre, two rear ridge stacks to right of centre. Gabled bay to left with circular and semi-circular decorative framing and cusping in gable. One casement window on each floor. Three small first floor casements to centre, two on ground floor below. Two first floor casements to right hand extension under projecting pentice hood across the base of the gable. One casement window to ground floor. Ribbed C20 door to right side of left hand cross wing (No. 4) part-glazed, ribbed door to right of centre (No. 2) further door to right end rear, slate hung first floor gable to right hand cross wing.
Interior: re-used timber to roof over centre, including gablet collar construction, through purlin diminishing rafter construction and all principal posts jowled.
