12/57 Terrace wall in garden of
Easton Neston House

Wall. c.1930. Limestone. Retaining wall of formal terrace in front of garden
elevation of Easton Neston House. Central flight of stone steps flanked by
seated lions on plinths. Sections either end break forward and are continued by
semi-circular walls either end of lower terrace to be terminated by stone piers
with urns. Forms part of a formal garden layout devised by 1st Baron Hesketh and
his head gardener, Swainson.
