Little Ballands

GV II

Part of former Rectory (Ballands Hall, qv), now house. Early-mid C19, altered.
Painted and stuccoed brick; Welsh slate roof. Rectangular former wing with
principal elevations on garden side of 1 x 3 bays and having: plinth; 12-pane
unhorned sashes with wooden architraves; eaves cornice; and blocking course mask-
ing hipped roof. Return elevation has narrower, recessed, left bay, and part-
glazed double door at centre. Narrower C20 door at junction with Ballands Hall.
Stuccoed chimney. Road elevation: applied timber-framing to 1st floor. Angled
late C20 porch on left, and late C20 bow window on right; 3 C19 leaded iron case-
ments above of 1, 2 and 1 lights: rendered stack on left. Interior: one original
fireplace with plain stone surround and iron grate to ground floor; late C19 stair
with turned balusters; on 1st floor, panelled doors and landing-cupboard, and
moulded cornices.
