Former Coaching Inn, now public house and restaurant. C16 and C17 with
extensions in C18 and C19 forming central courtyard. Timber framed with
whitewashed rendered cladding to front, whitewashed brick and render
infill on return fronts, tile hung on first floor left of street front.
Plain tiled roofs of varying heights with end stacks to left, ridge stack
to centre and large stack to rear right. Two storeys with projecting gable
front wings to ends; each gable with square bay, glazing bar sash window
under hipped slate roof, to centre of first floor. 5 glazing bar sash
windows across first floor, irregularly spaced. Glazing bar sash window
to ground floor right and in pentice roof single storey addition across
ground floor left, casement window in ground floor of left, gabled, bay.
Glazed and half glazed doors in pentice roof porch in re-entrant angle
to left,-further half glaxed door in right hand re-entrant angle under
flat porch hood on brackets; further half glazed door to left side of
right hand wing. Left hand return fron.: recessed range to centre with
exposed framing. Single storey C19 range to left with dentilled eaves.
Right hand return front: considerable amount of exposed framing of C16 and
C17 date.
Interior: extensive framing visible although restored. Undergoing restoration
at time of re-survey.
