House. Early C17, rebuilt in replica using original materials in C2O. Red brick
with plain tiled roof. One storey and attics under two gabled boarded dormers,
diamond-pane casements. Small stack to left end, multiple stack to right of
centre. Four wood mullioned and transomed windows across the ground floor, l three
light diamond-pane casement either side of centre. Small square window to centre.
Plank door to left. Single storey gable end wing at right angles to rear with
diamond-pane leaded casement fenestration.
Interior with exposed beamed ceilings, open or other old fireplaces, exposed tie
beams and rafters in bedrooms with exposed stud partitions. Rebuilt using
original materials on the orders of Sir Richard Burbridge, owner of the village
of Astlam, when the Queen Mary reservoir was built covering the original village.
