Trinity House Offices
GV II
House, now offices. Early C19. Brick covered in Roman cement
with slate low pitched roofs hidden behind parapet. 2 storeys
and low attic storey. Front to Church Street has 5-window
range of recessed double-hung sash windows with small panes.
Moulded cornice below sill of smaller attic windows. Central
door recessed with raised-and-fielded panels on reveals.
Moulded string band at first-floor level and plaque with
Trinity House crest above door. Ground-floor windows
unsubdivided. Curved corner to Church Lane facade which is
similar but 4-window range on upper 2 floors. Ground floor has
3 double-hung sash windows unsubdivided and wide service
opening with similar plaque over, C20 infill of reeded
pilasters and architrave. 2-storey painted brick extension
with machine-made clay plain tile roof with truncated stack.
INTERIOR: retains early C19 open-well staircase with panelling
up to dado on sides.
