Terrace of 3 town houses. Late C17, refronted late C18 and
C19. Incised stucco and render on masonry; steep dry slate
roof with 7 gabled dormers with 12-pane 2-light casements
incuding an C18 window to No.51 with thick glazing bars;
projecting front eaves; cast-iron ogee gutters; rubble end
stacks; 3 rubble rear lateral stacks and similar rear gable
stack to No.55 (right). Single-depth plan plus rear wings at
right-angles. 2 storeys plus attics; 7-window range. Nearly
symmetrical 3-window front to 51 (left); late C19 or C20
four-pane horned sashes in narrow openings except wide opening
to right of 55 with tripartite sashes (ovolo-moulded oak
lintels over openings of 53 revealed c1980); C18 pedimented
pilastered doorways, panelled reveals to 53 & 55; all with
6-panel doors. Rear with 2 hipped and 2 gabled wings is an
irregular but interesting elevation. INTERIOR not inspected
but likely to be of interest.
