Landscape building. Early C18. Limestone ashlar, coursed
squared limestone rubble plinth and rear wall; unroofed. 3-bay
rectangular pavilion with applied Doric order. 3 round-headed
openings to front with flat unmoulded surrounds with keystones
above moulded impost; applied Doric order with 4 pilasters,
full entablature breaking forward over pilasters, parapet with
plinth and moulded coping has narrow dies with ball finials
over above pilasters. 2-bay returns have balustrade in opening
to front, blind opening to rear. Entrance via steps to rear
left through unfinished opening in rear wall. Entire building
raised on deep plinth of coursed squared limestone rubble.
Horse Temple originally faced Hexagon (qv) down Windsor Walk,
moved to present position after 1779, probably when Kennels
(qv) constructed 1837.
