Milepost, late C19, probably by Smith Patterson Ltd. of Blaydon. Cast iron,
painted white with black figures. Oval top with faceted twin faces, on circular
fluted shaft. Raised legend ALNWICK 5 MILES / CHATTON 9¾ MILES. Height 0.50
metre.
