Farmhouse. Late C17, with C20 alterations. Coursed rubble coal
measures sandstone with quoins, coped gables with moulded
kneelers, stone gable and ridge stacks, stone and Welsh slates.
Two storeys, six bays, the north-east end bay with a plain gable
and possibly built as a cottage contemporary with the house, or
refashioned from a lower outbuilding within a short time of the
original build. Farmhouse part symmetrical, with central
doorway with quoined surround flanked by stacked 2-light chamfer
mullioned windows, with flush surrounds, but with projecting
heads with a hollow chamfer to the lower edge. Above the
doorway a single light opening. All windows with leaded
casements. Cottage bay with stacked 2-light mullioned windows,
matching those to the house. Doorway within plain opening and
beneath a modest lintel to the north-east end. Plain planked
and studded doors to both parts. The quoining to the north-east
corner continues only up to first floor level.
