Farmhouse. C17 and later. Rendered rubble, but exposed on back walls, Welsh slate
roofs. T-plan, with original wing gable to road and cross-wing with hipped ends
centrally projecting for stair turret left, two rubble stacks at eaves. Later wing
right masking original entrance, one rendered stack near right-hand gable, and back
slopes of roof in pantiles. Elevation to road, gable 3-storeys, 3-light over 4-
light C19 casements, and 3-light C20 casement at ground floor, all with smooth
dressed surrounds in rough plastering; low wing with two storeys, 3-windowed various
casements, entrance far left C19 panelled door, part glazed in heavy chamfered frame
under 'picturesque' lightweight wood porch with hipped slate roof and second C19
plank door in chamfered 4-centred arch stone surround under lightweight gabled porch,
immediately to left of stack. Rear elevation to older wing includes old ground
floor 4-light wood C19 casement in C17 moulded stone surround. Interior includes,
back room left, C17 oak panelling probably brought from elsewhere and wide stone
fireplace with very flat 4-centred arch lintol and stopped mouldings to cheeks;
in corresponding front room is moulded stone overmantel. Cellar under part. Stair-
case with square newels, formed spherical terminals, heavy turned balusters and
moulded handrail, probably C17. Two internal doorcases with flat pointed heads,
one door, not in-situ, remains. At time of survey, May 1983, older wing generally
in need of maintenance.
