The Gables, Lamb House and Tower Cottage

Three dwellings, formerly one inn, The Lamb and Flag. C17 but mostly C19
facade. Smooth rendered with plain tile roof, but some Welsh slate to back
slopes. Complex form with one gabled deep wing left, two gables right, and
central broad section. Two storeys and cellar, with third storey in gable
to Tower Cottage. Canted bay in two storeys, left, sashes without bars; three
sashes with bars, centre, segmental heads, over six-panel door in broad frame
and ridged hood on consoles, plus four-light square early C20 bay; one two-
light casement over fine mid C19 shop front with decorative scrolled ironwork
frieze over multi-pane window, and small sash on return to projecting gable;
Tower Cottage one-windowed, sashes with bars; corner of building canted and
corbelled. Decorative C19 barge-boards to two gables.
