House, now home for mentally handicapped. Late C18 on C17 core.
Stucco, concrete slate hipped roofs, 2 stone end stacks, parapet.
L-shape and separate wing to left. 3 storeys. 3 windows, glazing
bar sashes with flush sash boxes, triple: single: triple sashes.
Large voussoirs and grooved keystones. 3 windows also on ground
floor, 12-pane sashes. Door to left with large flat wooden hood
with cornice and reeded doorcase. Original door with only 2 lower
panels remaining. Wing with 2 windows as main range and some
Gothick interlaced tracery to left return. On right return of main
range some leaded mullion and transom casements and a Venetian
window in recessed blind arch.
Interior: many remaining interior fittings especially in front hall
- panels with carved swags over doors, fireplace with slightly
rusticated blocks and voussoirs, and panelled overmantel,
elaborately moulded doors and internal shutters
