Bridge, cartshed, trough, pump and wall. C19 and earlier. Mainly coursed
sandstone rubble, bridge of coursed and dressed sandstone blocks. The bridge
spans the western arm of the moat; it has a single segmental arch with chamfered
edge and raised key and a plain parapet on the south side; the north side has
been built up with a high rubble wall. The moat retaining wall is carried up as
the rear wall of the single-storey cartshed which faces west. This latter has
been converted into stables, the openings being blocked with brick. There are 7
stable doors. At the right hand gable end are 2 single-light windows with
chamfered surrounds; these may be medieval. Also at this end is an attached
stone horse trough and cast iron pump with fluted head.
