Valve house. Circa 1890 for Newcastle and Gateshead Water Company. Flemish bond
brick with ashlar-coped plinth, quoins and dressings; Welsh slate roof with roll-
moulded ridge tiles, bargeboards and wooden spear finials. One high storey, 3 x 1
bays. Double door in east in chamfered alternate-block Tudor-arched surround;
similar surrounds to 3 tall windows in each return.
