House. Mid C18; said to be dated 1760. Mid C19 wings and attached outbuildings.
Flemish bond brick with moulded stone cornice. Slate hipped roofs; brick ridge
stacks. Double-depth plan extended to T-plan. Central block is 3 storeys;
4-window range. Sashes have brick flat arches with keystones. Lower top floor
has C20 top-hung windows. Return sides have 3 brick bands, the lower 2 of
dog-tooth pattern. 2-storey wings set far back. Small one-window block in
re-entrant angle on right has fielded 6-panelled door and fanlight, panelled
reveals and painted wood Tuscan Doric porch with open pediment. Each wing has
large stone Venetian window on first floor. To ground floor, left wing has 2
late C19 one-light windows. Right wing has 2 sashes with rusticated stone flat
arches and keystones. Further lower range has another sash, and on far right a
very large round-arched window with moulded stone arch and a door. Rear is
altered. Third bay of central block has 6-panelled door and fanlight with
painted rusticated surround, consoles and open pediment. Outbuildings attached
at right angles to wings. One storey; 6 bays. Blind arcading with blind lunettes
and some blind windows. Various doors. Left wing has 2 bays of double doors with
basket arches. Interiors not inspected.
