Farmhouse. Early/mid C19; later addition to left. Flemish stretcher bond brick
with black brick dog-tooth cornice. Late C20 concrete tile roof; brick right end
and rear stacks; addition has stack in left corner. Central staircase plan. 3
storeys; 3-window range. Addition of one storey and attic; one bay. Regular
front has half-glazed 4-panelled door to left of centre. Ground floor has
mid/late C19 wood mullioned and transomed 3-light windows, and first floor has
3-light casements, all with horizontal glazing bar. Ground and first-floor
openings have brick segmental arches. Second floor has 2-light casements, mostly
with glazing bars. Addition has late C20 three-light ground floor casement.
Interior not inspected. The farm is all that remains of the Warwick County
Asylum for Juvenile Delinquents, established in 1818 and closed between 1868 and
1871.
