24.10.50 and Rochester Pier
GV II
Balustrade between River Medway and Esplanade. Erected 1914 re-
using parts of Lewis Cubitt's bridge of 1856 which was demolished
to make way for the present road bridge (qv). Bulbous limestone
balusters with coping and plinth. Large panelled plinth carries
a lamp on tall fluted column (similar to those on the 1914
bridge). The pier end terminates with a pair of low panelled
