Shown on 0.S, map as Sambourne Oak Farm.
Farmhouse. c.1550, c.1600 and late C17. Partly timber framed with brick infill;
centre section roughcast; right wing of C19 brick with string course and brick
dentil cornice. Old tile roof; brick ridge and end stacks. T-plan. 2 storeys and
attic; 4-window range. Cross wing on left has exposed framing with jowled posts;
window on first floor only. C20 panelled door and open porch. C19 casements with
glazing bars, and wood mullions and transoms on ground floor. Windows in left
return side of right wing have cambered arches. Wing also has external stack. 2
roof dormers. Left return side and rear are roughcast. C19 and C20 casements.
C20 canted bay windows. Wing has small amount of close studding. Interior: Some
exposed timber framing. Broad stop-chamfered ceiling beams. 2 open fireplaces
back-to-back, one with stop-chamfered bressumer. Staircase has two C17 square
moulded newel posts. Roof has curved wind braces. C19 single storey additions.
