Barn. Early to mid C19. Hammer-dressed stone, stone slate roof. Quoins and
kneelers. South front has segmental arched cart entry with tie-stone jambs.
Over is Venetian window with projecting sill, impost and false keystone. To
left mistal doorway with quoined lintel and chamfered surround. Left hand
return wall has central doorway with segmental arched lintel and chamfered
surround. Over are 2 rectangular ventilators with arched heads. Circular hole
to apex. Rear has similar cart entry with doorway set within the re-entrant
angle of portal to possible cottage or unheated dairy to left which has 4-light
chamfered mullioned window with an arched light over set between 2 corbels. It
is possible the cottage could have been used by seasonal workers at hay-making
or sheep-shearing time.
