GV II

Hall house. Circa 1500. Timber framed, exposed with plaster infill and
part clad in red brick with plain tile roof. Truncated Wealden - the
expected jettied bay to right burnt down in C18, as evidenced by the red
brick cladding to this end wall. Remaining 3 framed bays: 2 storeys on
plinth, left framed bay jettied at first floor. Hipped roof with gablets and
now central ridge stack, inserted into old screens passage. Two framed bays
to right were original recessed central hall. Irregular fenestration of
3 windows. C19 brick mullion windows to ground floor and first floor to
right, casements to first floor left, and chamfered brick mullioned lights
(C16?) to centre. Exposed central frame of original entry to screens
passage, entrance now to rear. Interior: crown post roof.
