Farmhouse and outbuildings)
GV II
House, formerly farmhouse. Partly C16/C17 with taller C17 left range, and later
alterations. Timber framed: square framing with infill, some underbuilding and
front of left range of whitewashed brick. Thatched roof; left range has tile
roof; brick large ridge and right end stacks. 3-unit plan with one-unit left
range and small addition in centre to rear. One storey and attic; 4-window
range. Irregular. C19 whitewashed brick porch between third and fourth bays has
tile roof and half-glazed door. C19 chamfered 6-panelled door inside. C19
casements with horizontal glazing bar, of one, 2 and 3 lights to ground floor.
Attic has small light to left range. Swept dormers have 3-light windows. Left
return side and rear have much exposed framing. Right return side is underbuilt.
Rear addition and outshut are mostly plastered, with asbestos tile roof.
Interior: exposed framing and ceiling beams to most rooms. Open fireplace. The
left range may have originally been an attached outbuilding.
