House now in 3 occupancies. Second half of the C17, sub-divided early C19. Coursed
squared stone, stone slate roof. L-shaped plan. 2 storeys, 3 bays with wing
projecting from front left. Main range: three l-bay cottages. Double-chamfered
mullion windows to 2 left-hand bays. Each cottage has a C20 board door in C19 plain
stone surround. No 2 (on left): door inserted in right end of window leaving 5
lights; 5-light window above. No 3 (in centre): door to left of 6-light window
with 5-light window above. No 4 (on right), now part of No 3; straight joint and
change in masonry on first floor at junction with No 3; door on right of 3-light
C20 flat-faced mullion window with two 2-light single-chamfered mullion windows
above. Two ridge stacks. Wing (No 1): gable has plain stone surround, doorway
on left of C20 lean-to garage (not of special interest); 2-light flat-faced mullion
window to right above; gable stack; right return has quoins on left, blocked quoined
doorway on right with wooden lintel and blocked window on left where wall is of
thinly-coursed rubble. Rear: two 4-light windows to ground floor (Nos 2 and 3);
on left (No 4) a 3-light chamfered mullion window. Right return: straight joint
indicates rearward extension and roof heightening; on right a blocked 2-light flat-
faced mullion window with 2-light chamfered window above (mullion removed). Left
return: on ground floor, double-chamfered mullion windows of 2 (blocked), 3, 3 and 4
lights with a later 2-light flat-faced mullion window between the last two.
