Public house. Mid C18 with early C20 alterations. Painted brick in Flemish
bend, Welsh slate roof. 2 storeys, 5 bays. L-shaped plan, with lower 2-storey
range, to rear right. Chamfered rusticated quoins. Ground floor: central 6-panel
door below overlight in Tuscan surround, flanked by square bay windows, with
3 front panes of etched glass below 2-pane overlights, all under continuous fascia.
First floor: sash windows with projecting ashlar sills and voussoired wedge lintels
with fluted dropped keystones, arranged 1:3:1. Moulded cornice with blocking
course. Ashlar end coping. Brick end stacks.
Interior: on ground floor to left, good c.1900 cast-iron fireplace with pretty
tiles; rooms on ground floor all knocked into one large bar, but cornices intact.
