Early C19 front to Market Place projecting from mid C17 building. Formerly
Holy Lamb public house. Front 2 storeys rubble with brick quoins and quoined
brick dressings. Low pitched stone tile roof, hipped. Six glazing bar sash
windows on first floor, one on ground floor. Shop front centre right. Six
panel door to left of centre, the door and adjacent window with stone lintels
The older part is behind and quite visible. Two and a half storeys with 2
gabled dormers and stone tile roof. Large chimney stack to left with 2 diagonal
brick shafts on weathered and stepped stone base. A further brick chimney,
off ridge, to right hand gable. On right hand gable the front is joined to
an older 2 storey extension. Also on this gable a panel with faded and illegible
date (looks surprisingly like A.D.1566) and an unusual device possibly a woolmark.
