House. Mid C19 in a Jacobean style, possibly by William Burn. Knapped
flint with ashlar bands, quoins and dressings; plain tiled roofs.
Irregular plan of 2 storeys with garretts, with main block parallel to
road, and cross wing off centre. Brick and stacks. The porch
is in the re-entrant angle between these two wings. To rear are
various brick and rendered extensions. Scattered fenestration, all in
stone, of 2 lights with diamond-leaded panes, chamfered mullions. On
ground floor in each gable end are segmental bays with mullioned and
leaded lights, and stone slated roofs. Porch of 2 openings, that to
right blocked, that to left panelled, in chamfered stone surrounds. Ornate
shaped gables with ball finials, and armorial plaques set at attic level,
a horse leaping over a crown, with the motto:
