Church of St. Cuthbert.
G.V. II
Parish church. 1866-7 by C.H. Fowler. Coursed squared sandstone with ashlar
dressings; Welsh slate roof with flat stone gable coping. Nave with south porch,
chancel with north vestry. Early English style. 2-bay nave: shallow gabled porch
containing pointed-arched double boarded door; 3 stepped lancets. One-bay chancel
with single lancet; bar tracery to east and west windows; west bellcote.
Interior: south chancel window by Wailes and Strang of Newcastle shows Holman
Hunt's 'Light of the World'.
