Row of 3 cottages now 2 dwellings. Late C17 with later alterations. Coursed
ironstone rubble. Partly ironstone ashlar on left. Steeply pitched thatched
roof. Renewed brick ridge and end stacks on stone bases. Two single-unit
original plans and a 2-unit plan. Single storey plus attic. 6-window range
altogether. Ivy cottage. 2 entrances have plank doors and moulded wood
surrounds. Stone flat arch on left. Gabled wooden hood on right. A 3-light stone
mullioned window of flat splay section on right has a moulded stone hood mould.
To left a 3-light metal casement in wood frame and a C20 metal casement. Stone
flat arches. Attic has two C20 windows with renewed wood lintels and 2 renewed
half-dormers with wood lintels. Cottage on right. Entrance is flanked by a wood
mullioned window and a 3-light metal casement in wood frame. Painted, chamfered
wood lintel on right. Refaced wood lintel on left. Attic has two half-dormers
with a renewed 2-light casement on left and a 3-light metal casement on right in
wood frame. Wood lintels. Tie-bar above entrance. Some wrought-iron casement
fasteners. Ironstone quoins. Stone coped gable on left with remnant of stone
finial at apex of roof. Interior to Ivy Cottage has chamfered beams and
inglenook fireplace with fire window to exterior.
