Barn ten metres to west of Stubbing Farmhouse

Barn. Late C16 or early C17. Thin rubble brought to course with dressed quoins, stone slate roof. Single aisled barn of four bays with through purlin truss with triple angle struts resting on braced posts to aisle with common rafter roof. Large impressive gable has many square headed chamfered ventilators. Left hand return wall has doorway with depressed arched lintel to entry to aisle mistal. Square headed entry to barn at arcade-plate point with internal porch over, carried by roof to aisle. This has lintel formed by two re-used timbers exhibiting half-lap joints probably from an earlier cruck building.
