Railway viaduct carrying Leeds-Derby line of North Midland Railway over River
Aire. 1840, Consulting Engineer George Stephenson. Dressed sandstone and
brick. Five semicircular arches (the outermost dying into the embankments at
each end), with rusticated stepped voussoirs; roll-moulded band, ashlar
parapet. Two piers in the river have convex cutwaters. Soffits of arches
are of brick.
