Springstone House

Large house. Mid C19 with late C19 or early C20 wings. Coursed squared
stone with ashlar dressings. Welsh slate roof. 2 storeys. Symmetrical 3-
bay facade with slightly projecting single-storey wing to each side.
Central, pedimented portico with fluted Tuscan columns, backing pilasters and
decorative frieze. 4-panel, part-glazed door, with fanlight. 12-pane sash
windows to ground floor. 12-pane casements (later) to 1st floor, the central
one with architrave and cornice. Sill bands. Moulded eaves cornice and
blocking course. Hipped roof. Lateral brick stacks. The wings are hipped
and each has a tripartite bow window. The left return has a doorway with a
panelled doorcase. Rear: round-arched stair window with glazing bars
(renewed). Twin hipped roof.
