Farmhouse, now 2 houses. C17, with mid/late C19 additions and alterations; right
wing (Oversley Grange) refaced and largely rebuilt. Timber framed with
whitewashed brick infill and whitewashed brick additions; right wing mostly
brick, with roughcast front. Old tile roof; brick stacks. L-plan. 2 storeys;
4-window range. Front of 3 projecting gabled wings. Left wing has exposed
framing with jowled posts. C19 open porch between left and central wings. C19
half-glazed door. Catslide roof with dormer. Central and right wings have large
2-storey canted bays with fish scale tile roofs. C19 and C20 casements with
varied glazing bars throughout. Central wing has brick external stack of 2
shafts on left side. Left return side has exposed framing. C20 door and glazed
porch. C19 two-window range beyond. Ground floor windows under segmental brick
arches. Right return side has irregular fenestration. Large C17 external stack
at right corner has star shafts of thin bricks. Rear of C19 brick and irregular
fenestration. Interior: Left wing has broad-chamfered ceiling beans. Open
fireplace, altered winder stairs. Through purlin roof. Oversley Grange has broad
chamfered beams and some exposed framing on first floor.
