House now offices. c1800 with later additions. Ashlar magnesian limestone,
stone slate roof. 2 storeys, 3 bays with 1-storey, 1-bay side wings and 1-
bay screen walls; parallel range to rear left with lean-to coach-house/stable
against left return; raised wing to rear right. Plinth. Stone steps to
central 6-panel door having fanlight with radial glazing bars under archivolt
in ashlar sandstone doorcase with Doric columns, plain frieze and pediment.
Flanking bays on each floor have projecting stone sills to tripartite sashes
of 4, 12 and 4 panes under flat arches. Central lst-floor sash with glazing
bars in matching opening. Dentilled and modillioned wooden cornice forms
gutter; shaped kneelers, ashlar gable copings and rendered end stacks. Side
bays each have a sash with glazing bars beneath flat arch and ashlar-coped
parapet. Screen walls have flat-arched doorways, that on left is blind.
Rear: parallel range has tripartite windows to each floor; projecting wing on
left has been raised in the C19. Left return: coach-house/stable, on left,
has infilled basket-arched carriage entrance on left of a 6-pane casement and
a C20 part-glazed door under flat arch; oculus over window. Right return:
side wing has panelled door and fanlight with radial glazing bars in round-
arched recess beneath gable with tall apex stack.
Interior: hall has inner doorway with fanlight as front; 6-panel doors;
staircase with turned balusters to wreathed and ramped handrail. Front room
fireplaces have iron baskets in wooden surrounds with dentilled cornices,
that to front-right flanked by round-arched recesses with reeded archivolts.
Rear-left room (dining room): panelled dado with Vitruvian scroll rail; iron
basket in marbled frame and Neo-Classical wooden surround; round-arched
recess opposite with side pilasters, archivolt and semi-dome with radial
astragals.
