Farmhouse. Late C16 and early C19; complex form. Timber-framed rear range
encased in red brick; white brick front range; slate roofs. Part 2 storeys,
part 2 storeys and attics. The front range has a fully hipped roof with plain
eaves overhang and 2 end chimney-stacks with plain square shafts. 5 small-
paned sash windows in cased frames with deep reveals and flat arches. Central
recessed doorway with 2 half-glazed leaves and fanlight with radiating glazing
bars. A rainwater head dated 1828, which was thought to date the front range
of the house, has been replaced. The rear range has an L-shaped form, and
overlaps the front on the north-east side. It has an internal chimney-stack
with a large plain shaft, partly of white brick, on a base of small Tudor
bricks. Various old casement windows and small-paned sashes and one flat-
headed lead-covered dormer. Timbers inside are mainly covered: main ceiling-
beams with chamfer and stepped stops.
