Farmhouse. Early-mid C16 with probably C17 extension at the right hand end;
on the extreme right hand side is a mid C20 addition. A single long range,
the earlier part with a 3-cell form and probably originally cross-passage
entry. Timber framed, part plastered but mainly cased in red brick;
plaintiled roof. 2 storeys and attic. 5 windows, mainly mid C20 casements;
to the left hand side is a lobby entrance with gabled brick porch and 6-panel
door, the upper 2 panels glazed; boarded door to right hand side. The later
part has an original ovolo-moulded mullioned window at the rear. 2 internal
stacks. The hall has a very fine roll-moulded beam and joist ceiling with
enriched carved stops to the main beam and carved storey posts; this room also
has a blocked 4-light mullioned window. The parlour and the room directly
above also have roll-moulded beam and joist ceilings. Some good exposed
framing on the first floor.
