Farmhouse gable end to road. C16, C17 and C18. Sarsen, with brick
facade and extensions and brick gable. Thatched roof. Originally
single storey, now part single-storey and attic, part 2 storeys.
3½ bays with central kitchen wing to rear. Central living hall
with inserted stack with cross passage to rear, inner room in left
bay with dog-leg stair, and below cross passage a dairy, possibly
originally a byre. Door to cross passage within C20 open trellis
porch. Square bay to inner parlour, and paned casement windows.
Left end heightened to 2 storeys probably in C18.
Interior has spine beams in hall with ogee and bar stops, supported
on carved timber corbel in framed screen to upper end. Early-mid
C16 fire hood. Stair in parlour C18. Smoke blackening in roof.
Deeds relate to an estate of 1543-4.
