Circa 1857. Gently sloping cottage terrace. 2 storeys, 1 window each. Ashlar.
Houses grouped in 3 central pairs, flanked by outer groups of three, these groups
framed by pier strips, band at 1st floor level and narrow moulded eaves cornice.
Only Nos 18, 21 and 24 not painted; Nos 19, 27, 28 and 29 cement rendered. Some
late glazed sash windows and some later casements, Nos 27, 28 and 29 modern casements.
Ground floor windows have plain raised shallow pediments. Plain doorways with
bracketted cornices and mostly modern doors. Slate and double roman tiled roofs.
Ridge chimneys.
Nos 1 to 13 (consec), the centre block of the District Hospital and Nos 16 to 29
(consec) form a group.
