House. Circa 1600. Timber-framed, rendered and ashlar-lined; clay pantiles.
1½ storeys; basic 2-cell lobby-entrance form, with a 3rd unit added in mid
C17. The internal chimney-stack has a plain rebuilt red brick shaft. 3
gabled dormers with plain bargeboards, 2 with old 3-light casement windows,
square leading, pintle hinges. 2 old 3-light casement windows with transomes
to ground floor; one C20 2-light standard replacement. Main entrance door
with 6 flush panels, the, top 2 glazed; jambs and flat pediment with bolection
moulding. A plank door on the right. Plain interior has some timbering
exposed: chamfered main beams with lamb's tongue stops; one open fireplace
with a plain timber lintel. No tie-beams at wallplate level on the internal
trusses; the former end tie on right has been cut through to link in with the
later end bay. A 4-light window, blocked, in the right gable wall, with
square mullions and glazing bars between. Roof over original section with
principal rafters, a C20 replacement above extension.
