Former Rectory. C16 core, extensive early C19 additions. Part 1½ storeys,
part 2: complex, irregular plan. Oldest range: 1½ storeys, T-shaped plan:
timber-framed and plastered, early C19 roughcast in panels on south side, comb-
patterning on west. 2 carved brackets to eaves at gable end. Early C19
single-storey semi-circular extension on south in white brick with flat lead
roof. One large small-paned sash window, one gabled dormer. On north, a 2-
storey white brick extension with sash window in deep reveals. Early C19 main
range on south east: 2 storeys, white brick, string course, slate roof. 3
windows: small-paned sashes. Doorway at west end with rounded arch and semi-
circular fanlight: C20 door. 4 blank windows on east side. Original part of
house has plain clasped purlin roofs with no principal rafters. The small
north-south range was converted to a stair wing in mid C18: plaster cornice
inside with egg-and-dart decoration, and a good dog-leg stair with turned
balusters.
