Nave cemented, chancel of knapped flints, tower of stone rubble. Chancel,
nave, west tower and south porch. The tower is the Pelham Tower with battlements
and Pelham buckler in the lable stops. C13 with some perpendicular windows,
chancel rebuilt in early C19, south porch C19. The church is the burial
place of the Pelham family, and 40 members of that family, including the
Duke of Newcastle, Prime Minister, have their graves here in the vaults,
but no memorials. Perpendicular chancel arch and single-framed roof with
tie-beams and kingposts.
